The Terms of Service
The rules for using DocStrata, explained clearly.
The Key Points
Here's what you really need to know
What We Do (And What We Don't)
File Type: We support PDFs only, by design — we'd rather be the best at one thing.
File Size: PDF files should be 50 MB or smaller.
Fair Use: We use a credit system. Visit our pricing page to know more about the credit system.
• Anything illegal.
• Processing copyrighted material without permission. Only use this tool with files you have the right to use.
• Anything that violates the law in the region you live in.
• First-time issues: A warning. Mistakes happen.
• Repeat violations: Account suspension or termination.
• Billing system abuse: Immediate account termination, no refund.
Your Account & Your Data
• Keeping your login credentials private and not sharing them with anyone.
• The content of any files you upload.
• Confirming you have the legal right to process any documents you upload.
• Age Requirement: Anyone old enough to hold a Google Account can create a DocStrata account.
• Account Security: We use Google Account authentication to help keep your DocStrata account secure.
Payment & Billing
• Unused credits: Refund requests are considered case-by-case.
• Unused credits on terminated accounts: Not refunded.
• You'll get email notice a month before any price increase.
• Price changes don't affect credits you already own.
• No surprise charges.
Liability & Warranties
The legal details, in plain terms.
• We don't guarantee 100% accuracy.
• We recommend reviewing output files for errors before relying on them.
• We're not liable for errors in converted files or any issues those errors cause.
• Lost or corrupted data — keep a backup of your original files.
• Inaccuracies in OCR results or problems they cause.
• Direct or indirect damages resulting from use of the service.
• Amounts already paid for file conversion.
In short: OCR is a tool to assist you. Verifying the output is your responsibility.
Technical Details
All API requests must be routed through the official website. Unauthorized workarounds aren't allowed, and attempting to game the API will result in account termination.
Rate Limits:
The rate limit is 10 requests per minute per IP address, applied uniformly to all users. Attempting to circumvent it results in suspension.
AI-Powered Processing:
We combine AI with OCR results for even higher accuracy. This feature is experimental and under active development.
Beta Terms:
• Uses 3x more credits than standard processing.
• Provided as-is, with no guarantees.
• May be removed at any time.
• Used at your own risk — we're not liable for results or consequences.
Legal Jurisdiction
DocStrata is based in Maharashtra, India, so Indian law and Maharashtra jurisdiction apply to any disputes.
2. Arbitration: If that doesn't resolve it, arbitration under Indian law is next.
3. Legal action: Any legal action can only be brought in the courts of Maharashtra.
Note that DocStrata isn't responsible for errors or inaccuracies in OCR output — verifying output files remains the user's responsibility.
A Few More Details
Are Account Transfers Allowed?
No — accounts are non-transferable.
What About Inactive Accounts?
Inactive accounts are currently kept indefinitely. If that changes, users will be notified in advance.
What About Service Changes?
We may modify, pause, or shut down the service. If that happens, you'll get at least a week's notice via email.
Do These Terms Change?
Yes, we may update these terms. We'll email you about any changes in advance, and continued use of the service after that counts as acceptance of the new terms.
Fine Print: This document constitutes the full agreement between the user and DocStrata. If any part of it is unenforceable, the rest remains valid. Not enforcing a provision on one occasion doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
